  As of 11:45 this morning (I had a telphone call this morning with the refernce department person named Holly at 212-963-7234), I can tell you that the Watchtower HAS DISASSOCIATED ITSELF FROM THE UNITED NATIONS DPI!!!!!!

  The DPI is now taking them off the list. The DPI requested the list removal to be done this morning!!!!!

  Everybody who is in authority at DPI is in a meeting and won't be available until 1:00pm edst. I will be phoning then to get someone in authority over this issue.

  So what do you folks think of that???

  I will be attempting to get something in writing seeing the DPI investigation is complete with the WTS leaving.

  I don't know what to think!
  They are going to say they didn't know about it and it's apostates that made them members!
  They'll say that or some other lie.

  I just hope the UN doesn't let them off that easily!!

  Hopefully this will be a shock to those dubs who have been saying "theres nothing wrong with the WTS' association with the beast". MAn, what will they say now??

  I guess we've lost the ability to direct the dubs to the NGO directory, so at this point, the more we can get in writing, the better.

  Can you clarify? Who initiated this, the WTS or the UN? In other words, did the WTS tell the UN, "Please disassociate us"? Or did the UN tell the WTS, "You are now disassociated"?

  I will do my utmost to get a letter from the UN and everything else I can from DPI on this issue.

  I will not let this rest until I get something in writing from the UN.

  I don't know what else to say. I have a sneaky feeling that they will go for the old "we are making it up" stuff since they are off the list.

  Wow - we really must have pushed some buttons!

  The WTS voluntarily quit according to Holly. Holly who works at the reference centre was asked by the higher ups today to take the WTS off the list.

  I will be calling this afternoon when the people in the know come back from meetings to get further infrmation and hopefully in writing. This is big news.

  Wendy (Mommy), had mentioned in a post that there was an application that had to be filled out........I wonder if that would be a matter of public record......If their was nothing wrong with their association to begin with, then why be removed from the list?..I think the noose of their own rope is beginning to tighten a bit more....

  Such a pity - more delay would have meant more publicity.

  But then, from the WTS's viewpoint, the best reaction possible. If it was really initiated on their part, that is - it may very well be that the UN "recommended" that the WTS disassociate "voluntarily" to save face. Well, so much for speculation.

  Right now, they're still on the list, though. Hurry with those HTML saves and screenshots :-)

  I hope the DPI will at least release a statement.

  Ok, well this still may not be too bad.
  By leaving themselves they are effectively saying there is something wrong with being associated, right? So they will have to answer for the 10 years they were associated and kept it quiet. I think...ohhh rats!
