Jehovah's Witnesses deserve choice as a legal right says lawyerA leading medical lawyer based at University College Cork says members of the Jehovah's Witness faith should have the legal right to refuse blood transfusions if they so desire.

Dr Deirdre Madden told a meeting of the UCC Medical Society that while it is a controversial issue, the refusal of transfusions is a matter of faith for Witnesses, and deserves to be respected as their choice.

There have been a number of cases where court orders were sought to force seriously ill patients to accept a transfusion, and where a parents wishes were overruled, in the case of a child.

Deirdre Madden says if a patient has made it clear to doctors that they are not to be given certain treatment, then their wishes should be honoured no matter how sick or incapacitated they become.

Richard Parker, a member of the Jehovah`s Witnesses, says that the refusal of transfusions is one of their fundamental beliefs
based on what is written in the Bible.

It is not forbidden by their faith but is a matter of choice for the individual, he said

He told last night`s meeting that neither the medical profession nor the courts should be entitled to force him or any member of his family to accept a form of treatment which goes against that individual choice.

That's typical hypocricy on their part, they have deceived their members into accepting that belief, they terrorise them with an everlasting death (ie no resurrection after death) if they accept blood and even worse with ostracism from the org which often means shunning by family members as well as friends. And yet the WTS has nothing to do with its members suffering or dying by not accepting blood it's 100% their decision, after all they don't pull out the transfusion needles from their veins.

How long before they openly state that it is a Conscience matter for the R&F.

LAWSUITS are the Watchtower and the local congregation hack elders greatest concern.

I was indoctrinated to never have "fear of man" (Proverbs 29:25) getting beat up in 1965 as a 7 year old schoolboy for not saluting the flag after John Kennedy's murder.

Murderous Watchtower is run 99% by greedy lawyers, and holy spirit, humanitarianism, love, common sense is nowhere.Jesus said that his true followers would be the "salt of the earth" the Watchtower leadership is the SCUM of the earth

That IS interesting, so it's a conscience matter according to that guy.

But if you take a blood transfusion you are automatically assumed to be DA'ing yourself right?

Weird. Surely if it's just conscience, then nothing would happen?

Haven't seen this yet BUT, my parents insist on the same line, that NO BlOOD transfusion is a conscience matter and any JW who takes blood is DA'd not DF'd......they just can't seem to understand that they amount to the same thing and claim that I am 'too clever' for them and just trying to 'trick' them.

The WTBTS is 'on the run' with the blood policy and unlike you Danny, as a 7 year old child, they run from the bullys rather than stand and fight.

90% of the general population rightly consider the Jehovah's Witnesses to be a pesk, but there are a few basic doctrinal issues they know, one of these is that accepting a Blood transfusion is a capital offense in the JW cult .
For the Watchtower Representative to go on the world news wire and say .

It is not forbidden by their faith but is a matter of choice for the individual, he said

This means that the THOUSANDS of followers including minor children have died for NOTHING by the murderous Watchtower dogma.

See,the watchtower is setting itself up to wiggle out of their mountain of blood guilt and forestall the lawsuits that are coming.

The murderous watchtower must be litigated out of existence
